The library will be closed April 3rd, 2026 for Good Friday.
Summer TLC is a teen leadership group focused on library volunteering while building essential leadership and workplace skills.
The Teen Leadership Council includes participation in the Teen Leadership Academy, held once a month from May through July. These sessions provide guidance on building a résumé, developing interview skills, and strengthening overall professional development. Members will also have the opportunity to connect with others and become more involved in their community. All TLC members will leave with a portfolio of logged volunteer hours, high-quality copies of their résumés, and eligibility for a professional reference from library staff. Our goal is for every member to gain confidence and real-world skills by the end of the summer. Bonus: TLC members who are inducted into NHS will receive a guaranteed 10 volunteer hours with the library during the following school year.
Who qualifies for Summer TLC? Teens ages 13 years-17 years old are welcome to apply.
How many volunteer hours will a TLC member work during the summer? TLC will assist with book collection maintenance and our Summer Reading Program events/programs for all ages. Teens can earn approximately 5 volunteer hours per week
Application Deadline All applications must be submitted by April 15th at 5pm. You may apply online at the link below. Printed applications are also available for pickup at the library.
What is our expectation for TLC members? TLC members are expected to demonstrate professionalism, communicate effectively, and interact positively with the public while representing the library with strong character, a willingness to learn, and a solid work ethic.
